Q: What bookkeeping software do you use? A: We are experts in QuickBooks Online (QBO). All of our services are built on the QBO platform to ensure the highest level of efficiency and security for our clients. You will need a QBO subscription to work with us, which we can help you set up.
Q: What is the difference between the "Essential Compliance" and "Streamlined Books" plans? A: Our Essential Compliance plan is perfect for new solopreneurs and freelancers who need clean, tax-ready financials. It covers your core monthly bookkeeping. Our Streamlined Books plan is designed for growing businesses that want more on-demand clarity, with support for more accounts and access to your own QuickBooks dashboard. Q: Do you offer tax advice or file tax returns? A: No, we do not provide tax advice or file taxes. We are a dedicated bookkeeping firm. Our job is to ensure your books are perfectly accurate and organized throughout the year. At year-end, we provide you (and your CPA) with a comprehensive financial package that makes tax filing simple and smooth.
Q: How will we communicate? A: To keep our services efficient and your data secure, all communication is handled asynchronously through our secure client portal and email. This allows you to ask questions on your schedule and keeps a clear written record. Our standard plans do not include phone calls or video meetings, allowing us to offer expert service at an affordable price.
Pricing & Billing
Q: Are there any contracts or setup fees? A: No. We believe in earning your business every month. All of our plans are month-to-month with no long-term contracts. There are absolutely no hidden setup fees.
Q: How does billing work? A: Our billing is simple and automated. When you sign up, you will enter your payment information into our secure system. Your card will be charged automatically on the same day each month for the upcoming month of service.
Q: What if I need to cancel my service? A: You can cancel your subscription at any time. We simply require a 30-day notice submitted via the client portal to ensure a smooth and complete handover of your financial data.
Getting Started
Q: What do you need from me to get started? A: Our onboarding process is designed to be quick and effortless. Once you choose your plan, you will:
Complete a short online intake form.
Follow our simple video guide to grant us "Accountant" access to your QuickBooks Online file.
Securely connect your bank and credit card accounts to the QuickBooks bank feed. That's it! We handle everything from there.
Q: I'm several months (or years) behind on my bookkeeping. Can you help? A: Absolutely. This is a very common situation. In addition to our monthly services, we offer a separate, one-time Catch-Up Bookkeeping service. We will provide a custom quote for this project based on the volume and complexity of the work required to get you current.
Is "Money Maps" Right For Me?

A: Our services are specifically designed for U.S.-based Single-Member LLCs, solopreneurs, and freelancers who use (or are willing to use) QuickBooks Online. You are a great fit if you value a professional, "done-for-you" service and are comfortable with digital communication.
Q: Who is not a good fit for your services? A: We believe in transparency, and we may not be the best fit for everyone. Our model is generally not suited for businesses that require:
In-person, phone, or video consultations.
Complex inventory management.
Day-to-day accounts payable or receivable management (beyond our Streamlined plan).
Bookkeeping on platforms other than QuickBooks Online.
